You need:

  • 1-2 Tblspn of Curry Gravy Masala,
  • 2 Tblspn of any edible oil,
  • 1-2 Tblspn of tomato paste,
  • 1-2 Tblspn of plain yogurt or sour cream. For Vegan preparation substitute soy products or omit. The color of sauce will be little reddish.

Preparation:-

Heat 2 Tblspn of oil in the pot, add 1-2Tblspn of Curry Gravy Masala. Roast it on low fire for 30-40 seconds. Add tomato paste and yogurt or sour cream. Saute for 1 minutes until everything is well incorporated. Add 1/2 - 3/4 cup water or coconut milk. Adjust salt and spiciness. Cover and cook the sauce for 5-7 minutes on medium heat. In the mean time, Wash and sprinkle salt lightly on the fish and set it aside( only if time permits, otherwise skip this step) for 15-20 minutes. Heat the oil in a pan and fry it lightly on both the sides. When curry sauce is ready add  the fish. Cover and cook for few minutes depending on type of the fish. Garnish with cilantro and serve.

Tips:

  • Add fresh ground coconut while preparing Curry gravy. If grinding coconut for this dish, add ginger and green chili while grinding. Sauté this paste first and then add Curry sauce Masala and then add tomato paste. Do Not add yogurt. Add water. Adjust salt and cook for few minutes and then add pan fried fish.
  • You can also add Coconut milk at the end. Just make sure you do not add too much water while cooking as the sauce may be thin.
